Summary
Many of us found Steve Thomas' midweek session a helpful and concise summary of what God was saying to us:
- Leave the shire. Alluding to the Lord of the Rings, Fraser Hardy spoke about the need for the church to leave the comforts and safety of 'the shire' to fully engage with God's greater purposes in saving his world. (see talks below)
- Apostolic proportions - not pastoral proportions. Fraser spoke of the need for our churches to be shaped by the apostolic mission (reaching beyond what we have) rather than just being pastoral communities (equipping what we already have). (see talks below)
- Do the mission-thing your shape - the way you are wired. Greg Burson spoke of his own journey, as a prophet, to find 'prophetic ways' of encountering the unsaved. What is your way? (see talks below)
- Barns have become houses. John Denning, a leader from Basingstoke with a prophetic ministry, spoke of God's sadness that barns have become houses, places of comfort instead of places of harvest. (audio download or transcript)
- Make disciples! Tony Gray spoke of the the emphasis of Matthew 28:18 being about making disciples, making fishers of men. (unfortunately the recording of this session failed)
- I want to hold your bags! Anne Young sung prophetically "I'm calling you and I'll carry you, with all your baggage." God is saying "you don't need to deal with everything before you get moving in my mission!" (available for download)

Lion of England
Cindy Ruakere's prophetic song Lion of England, written during the event, was a powerful and memorable summary of all that God had been saying to us during the week as a family of churches. Audio (MP3) and words available from our 28:18 resource menu (right).
(The song will be available properly recorded in 2006, but an rough mix from 28:18 is available here for download. More info in due course from www.cindyruakere.com).
